I am a retired Deputy Headteacher, having taught in Primary Schools in Kent through my working life. I am very familiar with the Ofsted experience and have served on the Governing bodies of two schools. I now work as a volunteer teacher for Christian Aid, taking School Assemblies and class groups.
I have been a Primary school Governor since 2003 when I moved to Torbay and was the Chair of Governors at Cockington Primary School for the last five years.
I work in the Financial services as a Business Change Project Manager which I feel helped with the amount of evolution that schools continue to go through.
I am a governor for two main reasons, firstly, I believe that every child should be provided with the opportunity to reach their own full potential and the primary stage builds the key foundations to enable this. Secondly, I personally benefitted from my school education and have the time and energy to give what I can back.
Both Samantha’s children spent the entirety of their primary school years at Preston and she contributed actively to the school community over a period of 12 years. She was Secretary and Chair of the PTA and was a Governor at Preston where she held the post of Chair of Standards and Vice Chair of Governors. She became a Joint Governor of Preston and Eden Park primary schools when Preston joined Coast Academies in 2014 and became a highly effective member of the Academy Challenge Team until her resignation from both in 2018. During her time as one of our Governors, Samantha played a supportive and critical friend role in some challenging times at Preston, including the circumstances around the school’s transition to an Academy, and culminating in the school improving considerably. Samantha is familiar with holding senior leaders to account across all areas and is passionate about ensuring continuous improvement of the Multi Academy Trust.
I live in Brixham with my husband and 3 children. I run my own small admin company. I am also on the committee of The Brixham Branch of the Royal British Legion.
A small team of independent professionals who deal with strategic direction, value for money and the overview of standards. They hold the leadership of the trust to account.

I am married with a daughter. I am joint founder of a South West based consulting firm that specialises in supporting clients to build business value and implementing strategic change. I work with organisations in the public and private sectors in the UK and Europe specialising in business strategy, organisational development and transformation. I also deliver entrepreneurship and enterprise training and development for schools, colleges and teaching staff in the UK and Europe.
Married, with 3 grown up children. I currently work as the Business Manager in a large privately owned Pre-School, after 20 plus years as a manager in the Post Office.
I am also a director in 2 sports related companies.
I have been involved in primary school governance for over 20 years, having joined the governing body at Cockington Primary School in 1994 and until recently also a member of The Virtual School governing body, providing governance around the education of children in the care of the local authority.
I enjoy travel, sport, walking and spending time with the family. There is no job more rewarding than creating opportunities and the environment within which children can optimise their potential. We need to provide experiences and support to help them prepare for the next stage of their education and for life in an ever evolving society.
My name is Louise and my son currently attends Preston Primary School. I’m the Marketing Manager of Paignton Zoo and Living Coasts and a member of the school’s Academy Challenge Team (ACT). My strengths lie in marketing, planning and cost savings.
I want to continue to make a positive contribution to our children’s education ensuring that the schools' strategic aims are met and exceeded and the decisions being made are beneficial to all children. I am committed to the ongoing improvement and development of Coast Academies.
I joined the Local Governing Body for Eden Park and Preston Primary in the summer of 2014 and then became a member of the Academy Challenge Team (ACT). Initially I was part of the team looking at Data and Standards and then early in 2017 Finance was added to my responsibilities. Last year I became a member of the Finance and Audit committee.
I retired from work just over three years ago. For most of my working life I was employed by the Met Office. For approximately twenty years I was in the forecasting part of the organisation. Initially based in London, I then moved to live and work in East Anglia for a number of years after training to be a forecaster. I then moved to the Met Office’s HQ, initially in Bracknell, Berkshire before moving to Devon in 2003 when the Met Office relocated to Exeter.
