Cockington Primary, Permanent Assistant Head.

Cockington Primary School, Torquay, Devon.

Permanent Assistant Head

 Leadership Pay Range L3 to L9 (£41,989 to £48,687)

We are offering a fantastic opportunity for a non-class based Assistant Head to join our talented and forward-thinking team in September 2019.

We are looking for an outstanding senior leader who has the ability to inspire, support and develop our whole school community.  We invite candidates who are experienced in leadership and have high expectations of themselves and those around them.  The right candidate will place great importance in developing strong relationships with the children, staff and community, be skilled in leading efficient systems and have a deep-rooted passion for excellence in the curriculum.

We can offer you a wonderful working environment, with a clear focus on teaching and learning, including high-quality professional development.  We are a large school and part of a MAT, which gives our staff fantastic opportunities for development and promotion.  We are always keen to hear from future head teachers.  Our school serves a diverse catchment and works hard to ensure that all children thrive and grow.  The children are amazing and we know you will feel a deep sense of satisfaction from providing the right environment for them to succeed.

Your role would focus on ‘Curriculum and Community’.  Your key responsibilities would be:

- Leading on the development of our curriculum, in line with recent research;

- System leadership - running key organisational systems across the school, such as the deployment of staff and resources;

- Acting as the SLT lead on communications with parents, the PTA and the wider community.

If you are looking for a school where you are encouraged to balance excellence with wellbeing, where passion for teaching is highly valued and where the team are driven by an aspiration for every child to succeed, then we are the school for you.

Set in the seaside town of Torquay, we have the beach at the end of our road and are situated close to the moors and countryside.  We are within an easy commute from rural, seaside and city living and - because Torbay is such a popular holiday resort - we have a fabulous range of attractions, restaurants and transport links at our fingertips. We are also only 30 minutes away from Exeter Airport with routes to UK cities and worldwide destinations. We could offer a relocation package for the correct candidate.
